Does forgiveness happen right away?
Once in a program you will be assigned a term. This will require you to recertify annually. Once you have made the amount of payments your term requires, your remaining debt will be forgiven.

What is "recertification"?
Every 12 months you are required to recertify in order to stay in the program you entered. This process requires you to submit new proof of income along with any other documents necessary to maintain your enrollment.
